Today is the day

So I've set up a blog as a class assignment for a summer class at NYU and will keep it updated with various goings-on. Even though the things we are working on-websites, pictures, animation-are things that I've done previously, I still manage to learn some new things every class and re-learn things I've forgotten. I never thought I would be a webmaster!!

On another note, I am starting to work on my project for Dr. Gilbert-re-scoring a scene for a popular movie. I picked Citizen Kane because I LOVE the opening scene and wanted to see how I could interpret it through music. It's kind of complicated to take a piece of this film from it's original file and experiment with it but my boyfriend and I are trying out different ways. I think we might end up doing a rough transfer of the film-playing the film and re-recoring it onto a digital camcorder. This way, we can edit it digitally without too much of a problem. I'm really looking forward to it!

My team met yesterday for the second time to talk about our final project and it's definitely coming along! I think it's interesting how each team in the class managed to come up with a similar project though I hope we don't end up repeating each other's information. My group still plans on doing a project showing the parallels between two VERY different genres of music-hip hop and opera as well exploring how they can enhance one another. I might even get to dance hip hop! That should be entertaining considering I'm TERRIBLE! lol
